How it's calculated

Three numbers, no black box

Every figure on this page rolls up from the inputs above — cable category, jacket, project type, slack, and testing tier all move the numbers below.

Cable & hardware

Run length times the per-foot cost of the category and jacket you picked — plenum runs about 35% more than riser — plus a slack & waste allowance for service loops and routing, plus a keystone jack, faceplate, and patch panel port for every drop.

Pull & terminate

Pull time scales with raw route length and project type — renovation and in-place upgrade work take longer than open new construction — plus a fixed half hour per drop to terminate both ends. Slack footage adds to material, not pull time.

Test & certify

Time and cost scale with the tier you choose, from a quick wire map check up through full certification with a client-ready test report.

Defaults: 120 ft/hr pull rate on new construction (×1.25 renovation, ×1.45 in-place upgrade), 30 min/drop termination, a slack & waste allowance, 8% material consumables, 35% plenum premium. Testing adds 0–12 min/drop and $0–3.50/drop depending on tier. Planning assumptions only — your numbers will move with site access, ceiling height, and conduit requirements.
